My goal is to do one random act of kindness a week for a year. To learn more about this goal go here: http://sayrahanne.tumblr.com/post/11864874657/a-big-idea.
So it’s week four. I’ve committed myself to making a healthier life style for myself. So fast food is no longer an option. Sad I know. On a side note, I did walk 21 miles collectively last week. I’ve been eating healthy (for the most part), and have no drank anything but water or milk.
My favorite way to do a random act of kindness is through a drive-thru. They don’t know you paid for them. You can escape quickly. Now I will have to be visible but it is ok.
Today I went to pay for some gas after an AMAZING church service. I wanted some lunch, but they didn’t have any sandwich’s on whole grain bread so I decided against. I went toward the counter to pay, and a man was behind me with a hot dog, chips, and a drink.
He looked so upset. Like MAD kind of way. Even if he looked intimidating, that is who I chose. I paid for my gas, a bottle of water and told the lady I was also paying for everything the man had in his hands behind me. She looked at me like I was crazy. He told me NO. I explained I didn’t want anything, just to bless him with kindness.
He about argued it, but I wouldn’t allow it. He said thank you, but he never cracked a smile. In my opinion, it’s those people who need those little blessings the most.
Some people are having a rough day. It may not always be written across their face, but it’s important that we are compassionate and bless others just as God blessed us. I pray that more people/followers start doing this with me. It’s such a great feeling. It doesn’t even take much. I’m broke as a joke, but I still take that 5 dollars I’d use on something pointless and put it toward someone else.
I just finished week four of random acts of kindness… What week are you on?
If you’re afraid of being hurt or taken advantage of in a relationship, if you’re terrified to leave your dead end job or if you simply try to keep yourself busy to avoid worry about money and other day to day things. It’s official, fear is taking over your life.
Fear is your friend. Accept it, and let it push you into a better direction. By accepting fear as a feeling and motivator, you’ll be able to move on from any fear(s) you have to a stronger you.
I feel like he always seems to talk about what I’m thinking or going through. God bless you Awright!
I never felt as free as I did that day. I want to go back to that. I want to feel as alive as I did that day. Not a care in the world, just me and the open sky as my playground.
