Week Four.
My goal is to do one random act of kindness a week for a year. To learn more about this goal go here: http://sayrahanne.tumblr.com/post/11864874657/a-big-idea.
So it’s week four. I’ve committed myself to making a healthier life style for myself. So fast food is no longer an option. Sad I know. On a side note, I did walk 21 miles collectively last week. I’ve been eating healthy (for the most part), and have no drank anything but water or milk.
My favorite way to do a random act of kindness is through a drive-thru. They don’t know you paid for them. You can escape quickly. Now I will have to be visible but it is ok.
Today I went to pay for some gas after an AMAZING church service. I wanted some lunch, but they didn’t have any sandwich’s on whole grain bread so I decided against. I went toward the counter to pay, and a man was behind me with a hot dog, chips, and a drink.
He looked so upset. Like MAD kind of way. Even if he looked intimidating, that is who I chose. I paid for my gas, a bottle of water and told the lady I was also paying for everything the man had in his hands behind me. She looked at me like I was crazy. He told me NO. I explained I didn’t want anything, just to bless him with kindness.
He about argued it, but I wouldn’t allow it. He said thank you, but he never cracked a smile. In my opinion, it’s those people who need those little blessings the most.
Some people are having a rough day. It may not always be written across their face, but it’s important that we are compassionate and bless others just as God blessed us. I pray that more people/followers start doing this with me. It’s such a great feeling. It doesn’t even take much. I’m broke as a joke, but I still take that 5 dollars I’d use on something pointless and put it toward someone else.
I just finished week four of random acts of kindness… What week are you on?
